New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams: ‘Bad blood’ in new NFC rivalry

Among the NFL’s Latest rivalries is in the spotlight on Sunday when the New Orleans Saints are hosted by the Los Angeles Rams , Only live on Sky Sports Action and Main Event.

Here is what to expect…
With this week’s Inside The Huddle podcast, NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche shared the Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan explained :”All that smoke we have for our competitions Atlanta – which is about the Rams.”
Among the NFL’s newest rivalries stems out of two thrilling encounters last year – and the conversation around them. Following New Orleans came out on top of a 45-35 touchdown-fest from the season, Saints head coach Sean Payton singled out Rams cornerback Marcus Peters as someone they looked to exploit.
Those comments didn’t sit well with Peters, who stated after the game:”Inform Sean Payton keep speaking that s***, we are going to see him soon. You believe me?
“I liked what he was saying on the sidelines also. So I’ll inform [him]’Keep speaking that so *** and I hope you visit me shortly. You feel me?’
“And we’re likely to have a wonderful little bowl of gumbo together.”
Despite both playing down it in the build-up into an NFC rematch in New Orleans, the Rams winning in controversial style – a blown no-call onto a pass interference preventing the Saints from obtaining a late first down which could have won them the match – Wyche has stated that the”bad blood” is definitely still there.
Will Blackmon pointed out that:”The [Saints] took the beat way too private, however. Even the nation resisted!” Indeed, a lawsuit has been filed over the no-call, but was subsequently dismissed before this year.
Last Monday night, the Saints (1-0) opened their season with a 30-28 thriller – and – also early match of the year candidate – since they toppled the Texans with a last-second Wil Lutz area objective.
Drew Brees orchestrated a six-play drive that was surgical with 37 seconds left to receive his team.
Los Angeles (1-0) went to Carolina and hauled off the Panthers 30-27. Todd Gurley had a great fourth quarter and handled 101 yards.
Jared Goff didn’t possess his best day (23/39, 186 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 pick) but he tossed a fourth-quarter score and the defense stepped up when it mattered most.
It’s a joy to watch these head duos in action, also on ITH, Blackmon and Vince Young expressed their thoughts about the 2 situations.
Young explained:”I watch Drew Brees winning MVP this year. I still see the guy out there slinging that basketball leading his group out to battle every year and communicating, still in great shape.
“You see that at a lot of quarterbacks but there is something quite special about Brees to me personally and I have a lot of admiration for him.
“I’m just happy to see he’s still going as him and Sean Payton’s chemistry is still performing well – becoming touchdowns and getting the guys a lot of wins.”
Meanwhile, Blackmon recognized that the Rams’ attack, saying:”I think Jared Goff and Sean McVay’s connection is phenomenal. It’s possible to observe the immediate growth. The team became.
“I had the pleasure of playing in Washington if McVay was the offensive coordinator and that he had exactly the same relationship with Kirk Cousins.
“We were watching McVay on the play-call – and he’s about the headset talking to Kirk all of the way down until the last second with what is happening and what to do.
“Finally it took a while for Kirk to accept ownership – because the one criticism for him was: once the play broke down, everything to do today?
“Kirk eventually started making that adjustment on his own, and the exact same thing with Goff finally starting doing that on his own also.”
We can expect you to be a shootout, so which participant from defense could step up and be a difference-maker? Rams linebacker Cory Littleton’needed a daytime’ weekend, racking up also a fourth-quarter interception, two passes defended, a fumble, plus 14 tackles. Can he do it?
In the NFC Championship game, Gurley had four rushing attempts for 10 metres. His ability to rip through defenses – and – keep Brees off the area could be crucial. On the other side, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas can’t be permitted to run riot.
