Rugby World Cup 2019: Pool A preview – Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Samoa, Russia

Ireland, japan, Scotland, Samoa and Russia confront with the two sides that are highest-ranked – Ireland and Scotland – facing each other.
Four years back, the world shocked by defeating South Africa in England. They will sponsor rugby’s showpiece and look to create a.
Below we have a peek at each country’s 31-man squad, decide on a key participant to focus on, go through present form and provide all of the pool’s fixtures…
Head coach: Joe Schmidt
Captain: Rory Best (120 caps)
Past Rugby World Cup best: Quarter-finals (1987, 1991, 1995, 2003, 2011, 2015)
Key participant: James Ryan. The row has grown into the performer in the Ireland squad. His work at the in ruck and loose time is crucial to the attacking phase play and defensive sets of Ireland. Together with Devin Toner Ryan will have to measure up more in the lineout.
Present form Ireland head to the World Cup because the No 1 ranked side in the entire world for the very first time despite enduring a much tougher 2019 than 2018. Last year saw them beat all before them as they gained string success in Australia, a Six Nations Grand Slam and conquer the All Blacks at Dublin. This season, they’ve suffered heavy defeats to Wales and England (twice), with their overall form and optimism rocked. Their final Cup triumph over Wales in Dublin will provide them a pep in their step and was remarkable though.
31-man World Cup group:
Forwards (17): Rory Best (c), Tadhg Beirne, Jack Conan, Sean Cronin, Tadhg Furlong, Cian Healy, Dave Kilcoyne, Iain Henderson, Jean Kleyn Peter O’Mahony Andrew Porter, Rhys Ruddock, James Ryan, John Ryan, Niall Scannell, CJ Stander, Josh van der Flier.
Backs (14): Bundee Aki, Joey Carbery, Jack Carty, Andrew Conway, Keith Earls, Chris Farrell, Robbie Henshaw, Rob Kearney, Jordan Larmour, Luke McGrath, Conor Murray, Garry Ringrose, Jonathan Sexton, Jacob Stockdale.
Fixtures:
Head coach: Gregor Townsend
Captain: Stuart McInally (29 Tests)
Previous Rugby World Cup best: Semi-finals (1991)
Key player: Finn Russell. When Russell is on shape, Scotland are a dangerous side and hard to contain. His pace, passing capability off either propensity and hand to measure the lineup make him a fantastic danger. The type of maverick talent that he is means when he is off his game too are Scotland.
Present form: A bit like Ireland, Scotland will look back on 2018 more lovingly than 2019. In the formerthey conquer England, France, Argentina (home and away) and Fiji, while also providing the Springboks a good go. While also drawing from the jaws of a victory at Twickenham England in 2019, they have dropped to Wales, France and Ireland. From the warm-ups, matters couldn’t have started worse using a reduction in France, but they recovered to beat France at home and Georgia home and away. All in all is really a mixed bag.
31-man World Cup squad:
Forwards (17): John Barclay, Simon Berghan, Fraser Brown, Scott Cummings, Allan Dell, Zander Fagerson, Grant Gilchrist, Jonny Gray, Stuart McInally (c), WP Nel, Gordon Reid, Jamie Ritchie, Blade Thomson, Ben Toolis, George Turner, Hamish Watson, Ryan Wilson.
Backs (14): Darcy Graham, Chris Harris, Adam Hastings, Stuart Hogg, George Horne, Peter Horne, Sam Johnson, Blair Kinghorn, Greig Laidlaw, Sean Maitland, Ali Price, Finn Russell, Tommy Seymour, Duncan Taylor.
Fixtures:
Head coach: Jamie Joseph
Captain: Michael Leitch (62 caps)
Past Rugby World Cup best: Pool point (1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015)
Key participant: Michael Leitch. Not their skipper, but Leitch is the best player of Japan, with breakdown skills, his match and general work ethic excellent. He’s an integral leader with this group, and was fundamental in the decision making to dismiss the prospect of a draw for a shot – the upset the sport has ever witnessed.
Form: Actually, the form during the last couple of years past Tier 1 resistance of Japan does not make for excellent reading. Bar one victory over Italy at Oita in 2018, they have been soundly beaten by New Zealand, England and South Africa – though there’s no shame in defeat perhaps the three World Cup favourites – while having dropped in a different Test against Italy. They’ve beaten Fiji, Tonga, Georgia, Russia and Italy. Can Scotland and Ireland jolt?
31-man World Cup squad:
Forwards (18): Michael Leitch (c), Keita Inagaki, Yusuke Kizu, Jiwon Koo, Isileli Nakajima, Asaeli Valu, Takuya Kitade, Atsushi Sakate, Shota Horie, Luke Thompson, Wimpie van der Walt, Uwe Helu, James Moore, Hendrik Tui, Yoshitaka Tokunaga, Pieter Labuschagne, Kazuki Himeno, Amanaki Mafi.
Backs (13): Kaito Shigeno, Fumiaki Tanaka, Yutaka Nagare, Yu Tamura, Rikiya Matsuda, Kenki Fukuoka, Ataata Moeakiola, Lomano Lemeki, William Tupou, Ryoto Nakamura, Timothy Lafaele, Kotaro Matsushima, Ryohei Yamanaka.
Fixtures:
Head coach: Steve Jackson
Captain: Chris Vui (14 caps)
Previous Rugby World Cup best: Quarter-finals (1991, 1995)
Key player: Chris Vui. You need to listen to Pat Lam and Eddie Jones speak about Vui to understand. Indeed, the phrase’world class’ has even been used. Electricity and hands, he is a player.
Form: Not great. Over the past two years, the only countries they have defeated are Tonga, Spain and Germany. They’ve lost to Fiji (twice), Tonga, Georgia, the USA (double ) and Australia. However, with the majority of the Europe-based players in today, they might come alive with this World Cup.
31-man World Cup squad:
Forwards (17): Afaesetiti Amosa, TJ Ioane, Jack Lam, Piula Fa’asalele, Josh Tyrell, Chris Vui (c), Teofilo Paulo, Kane Leaupepe, Senio Toleafoa, Michael Alaalatoa, Paul Alo-Emile, James Lay, Jordan Lay, Logovi’i Mulipola, Motu Matu’u, Ray Niuia, Seilala Lam.
Backs (14): Ed Fidow, Tim Nanai-Williams, Ahsee Tuala, Belgium Tuatagaloa, Henry Taefu, Alapati Leiua, Reynold Lee-Lo, Kieron Fonotia, AJ Atatimu, Tusi Pisi, Ulupano Seuteni, Dwayne Polotaivao, Melani Matavao, Scott Malolua.
Fixtures:
Head trainer: Lyn Jones
Captain: Vasily Artemyev (88 caps)
Past Rugby World Cup best: Pool stage (2011)
Key player: Andrei Ostrikov. The lock has experience of performing for Agen in France and Sale Sharks in England where he featured between 2011 and 2019, also is one of just two Russia gamers to ply their trade out the nation. He has signed for the coming year for Top 14 club Grenoble.
Present form: ” This month’s showpiece will be Russia’s second World Cup involvement, having previously featured in 2011 without success, failing to be eligible in 2015. Their form lost to the likes of Jersey Reds and Connacht, and is abysmal, having sent 85 points to Italy from the build-up. September 20, they start the championship from Japan on Friday.
31-man World Cup squad:
Forwards (18): Azamat Bitiev, Andrey Garbuzov, Kirill Gotovtsev, Victor Gresev, Bogdan Fedotko, Vitaliy Zhivatov, Evgeny Matveev, Andrey Polivalov, Vladimir Podrezov, Evgeny Yelgin, Stanislav Selsky, Nikita Vavilin, Sergey Chernyshev, Tagir Gadzhiev, Roman Khodin, Andrei Ostrikov, Valery Morozov, Anton Sychev.
Backs (13): Vasily Artemyev (c), Igor Galinovsky, Kirill Golosnitsky, Vasily Dorofeev, Yuri Kushnarev, German Davydov, Dmitry Perov, Vladislav Sozonov, Dmitry Gerasimov, Ramil Gaysin, Denis Simplikevich, Vladimir Ostroushko, Sergey Yanyushkin.

Notre Dame (9) vs Louisville
Monday, September 2 nd, 8:00 PM at Cardinal Stadium
Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and that I will detract to dip our feet into uncharted waters and then leave our school football selections.
It will probably be the first and only time this season we do so, as the previous week of exhibition NFL football is somewhat lackluster in comparison to some regular-season sport of NCAA soccer comprising one of the best teams in the country, and a mythical football program to boot up, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, let us begin the debate after my buddy Doug Upstone got the better of me last week while the Titans were supported by me. We have been swapping wins forth and back so it appears like its my turn to get the golden wreath, as I will follow each of the squares putting the thick lumber onto a road favorite and heartily endorse the Irish.
After reviewing the school football odds nearly six days ahead of the Monday night affair, I see that the lineup has spiked a half-point about the preferred, opening at Notre Dame -19 1/2 to where its presently offered in a solid -20 throughout the board at all of the best internet sportsbooks.
Youre currently leaning to the Cardinals although I enjoy the Irish. Besides the venue, why is it that you think Louisville will hang with the boys?
Doug Upstone: Yup Swinger, a triumph and IMO, it said a great deal about the management of the Steelers and Titans. Let us move to real soccer, in which the games rely and so will our recordings on this one.
Recall all those Thursday night matches Louisville utilized to play against competitions that are big-name? They held their own and engineered several upsets. These were fun games to see and also the Cardinals were a thrilling golf club.
But for example the former Papa Johns Stadium and its phony (in real life) owner, Louisville football last season was worse than the usual three-day-old pizza.
Scott Satterfield worked miracles in Appalachian State and are out win games and to alter the culture. This will not happen right away as the talent level is down in theVille. However this is a big moment for Louisville, a group that has the opportunity.
Ive read in which the Cards trainers have sped up the slow mechanics of QB Jawon Pass (good name for a QB) and I enjoy Hassan Hall because the lead running back. The protection which makes me more worried than having a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 for season wins. You have your Irish up please do tell.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals will not be doing much flying in the game as the Notre Dame defense will keep them snug in their nest. Scott Satterfield is presently in the big leagues and he has a group coming from a dismal 2-10 record this past year, in which they went winless in ACC activity. This rebuild is comparable to trying to turn it into an F-22 Raptor and taking a hot air balloon.
While that may eventually occur, the issue is that Louisville is facing a group that made it to the CFP this past year and possessed only one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, devoting only 17.2 points over the regular season and moving a perfect 12-0 till they fulfilled Clemson in the CFP semifinals. The offense clicked on all cylinders as well, averaging 33 points per match over.
So, my query is, just how is a quarterback like traveling whos slow to release, designed to obtain some traction against a swarming defense? Especially when hes working with a new coach and a completely new offensive scheme?
Please, Doug, rescue me Im lost! I find no way, shape or form in which Louisville is going to be able to keep up and Im desperate for handicapping experience that is prodigious and the ancestral wisdom!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, Im happy to read in your last sentence youre coming over to the glowing side of sports betting, or you are simply being the exact identical wise a** you usually are. Ill allow the SBR readers who are making that is decided on by college football selections. I am the first to understand Louisville was, however, 1-11 ATS and fully pumped last season.
Like he gave up about the Atlanta Falcons but coach Bobby Petrino was given up on by that team COMPLETELY. A new mindset is brought by A new trainer and his staff will be sold by Satterfield on making a statement, with this being a game. Louisville does need to trust never and they will not be taken by the Irish for granted have a lot of fight.
Lets also think about, Brian Kelly with all the gold and blue is just 10-13-1 ATS as a road favorite, also a mere 7-9-1 ATS when dishing out 20 or more digits. That defense you said might improve as the year progresses but replacing five starters, whenever you dont/can not recruit like Bama or Clemson, it will take time.
Swinging Johnson: Well Doug, I was being a bit facetious because though you have an handicapping restart, you miss the mark from time to time. And in this scenario, because Louisville might be better but Id submit that they could be coached with a Rhesus monkey and improve upon their deplorable document rendered by an equally awkward coach like Petrino you happen to be shooting blanks.
I know that laying nearly three touchdowns on the road is square biz for sure along with Joe Q. Public never got rich by betting the heavy road chalk, but at times the general public is correct, and in this instance they certainly are. Until next week when we get down on our NFL Game of the Week, lets see what happens on Monday night when the Irish come ready to squint at Louisville.

New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox MLB Pick – September 9th

The MLB is put up with another night of baseball using a total of eight matches on the board. Among the Best games on the board will be involving the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. As they perform their final game of their regular season against each other on September 9, this competition will finish for the year. This game will begin at around 7:10 PM Eastern time.
New York has made a list of 94-50 to the stage in the summer, which includes them and connected to the top place in the total MLB with the Houston Astros. The Yankees have won ten of the last playoff matches. New York will look to win this show with a win on Monday and has won 2 of those few matches this show.
The Red Sox have a list of 76-67 to this point in the summer, which includes them. Boston is seven and a half games back from a wild card place, so that they will need a very strong run in this stretch to make the playoffs. The Red Sox have dropped three of their last four matches and will look to tie up this series on Monday.
Both of these teams have had strong seasons, but Boston is in more mode as they attempt to race into the playoffs. Boston has struggled against the Yankees this season and will look to avoid losing a different string to New York on Monday. I anticipate this to be a thrilling match as both of these rivals finish out their season collection.
Before this series, the Yankees had an 11-4 lead in the total season series. New York has been all season long and it has shown against Boston. The only series that the Red Sox have been in a position to win against the Yankees came from July 25-28. Night boston has not been dreadful this year and will look to complete this series strong on Monday.
This series’ first game proved to be a good one premature. Until the Red Sox rode a 3 run homer to a inning by Mitch Moreland, these teams remained scoreless through the first 3 innings. Seven Boston pitchers played that night and only allowed three hits and one run because the Red Sox won 6-1.
The next matchup of the show started the identical manner as the first off. Edwin Encarnacion along with gary Sanchez both had two RBI to give New York the lead that is early. J.A. Happ pitched six and a third innings and only allowed two hits with seven strikeouts to assist the Yankees make a 5-1 win.
This series’ latest game was the last match at night on Sunday night. Mike Tauchman gleyber Torres and Aaron Judge all had homers since the Yankees scored two runs. Boston stuck around early, but lost.
New York’s bats have been unstoppable this season. D.J. LeMahieu has 174 strikes, 24 home runs and 90 RBI’s. Gleyber Torres has earned 141 hits, 35 home runs and 83 RBI’s. Gary Sanchez aaron Judge and Brett Gardner have over 85 hits and 20 home runs on the year. Eight other players have put up homers for the Yankees this year as well.
The Red Sox have some solid hitters in their lineup too. 179 hits have been earned by rafael Devers. Xander Bogaerts has put up 168 strikes, 31 home runs and 105 RBI’s. Mookie Betts includes 163 hits, 27 homers and 77 RBI’s this season, although J.D. Martinez includes 160 hits, 35 home runs and 91 RBI’s. Andrew Benintendi, Christian Vazquez, Jackie Bradley Jr., also Mitch Moreland have dual digit home runs this year as well.
The Yankees have set a record for home runs. New York has an season with their bats and the Red Sox are on the side of the lots this year. Boston has a strong hitting lineup as well, if they wish to earn a win on 27, however they will need from them.
James Paxton will start on the mound for Monday night. Paxton comes with a 12-6 record by which his 25 starts this season. In these starts, he’s put up an ERA of 4.16 and a 1.326 WHIP. Paxton’s last start came against the Texas Rangers, where he allowed one hit and no runs through seven innings.
Eduardo Rodriguez will be the starter for Boston on Monday. Rodriguez comes with a 17-5 record in 29 starts this season. He’s set a 3.81 ERA and a WHIP of all 1.441 on this season. Rodriguez start was against the Minnesota Twins. He allowed no runs and five hits on the year through seven innings because of his seventeenth triumph.
Paxton has won seven starts in a row this season and has put up 2-1 record against the Red Sox this year. Rodriguez is 1-1 in three starts against New York and has four starts in a row. Both pitchers are hot right now, which should result in a fantastic game. Rodriguez has the superior stats this season and he will look to help Boston earn a win to end this series.
New York has gone this year to 13-5 against the Red Sox, but I think that Boston will make a win at the game. The Red Sox have a chance to tie up this series on Monday. Boston gets the better starting pitcher on the mound in my opinion. If the Red Sox could perform on the side, I believe that Boston could pull off a triumph.
BetOnline has New York listed as a -113 against the money line. This means that the Yankees will win this game around 53 per cent time. While this match is near even, I believe that Boston ought to be preferred in this game. This also gives a Whole Lot of significance to the Red Sox.

Monday, September 2 nd, 8:00 PM at Cardinal Stadium
Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and leave our school football selections on the Monday night match between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals and then that I will detract to dip our feet.
It will almost certainly be the first and only time this season we do so, as the previous week of exhibition NFL football is somewhat lackluster in comparison to a regular-season sport of NCAA soccer featuring one of the very best teams in the country, and a mythical soccer program to boot, Notre Dame.
Without further ado, let us begin the discussion after my buddy Doug Upstone got the better of me last week while I endorsed the Titans. I enjoy the Irish but you are currently leaning in this season-opening clash on the Cardinals. Besides the place, why is it that you think Louisville can hang with the boys?
Doug Upstone: Yes, Swinger, IMO and at least a convincing win, said a lot about both the Steelers and Titans direction. Lets proceed to football, will our recordings on this one and in which the matches count.

Rams’ Sean McVay: Jared Goff extension ‘will get done’

Sean McVay is sick of hearing it suggested he is a magician who can succeed with any quarterback, so the Los Angeles Rams don’t have to pay Jared Goff a Carson Wentz-type of deal.
The Michael Silver of NFL Network was advised by the trainer he’s fed up that the Rams aren’t committed to Goff long-term.
“Whether it ends up happening this year or next year, there’s a zero percent chance this guy is not gonna get an extension he is worthy of,” McVay said. “All the narratives out there are mistaken. Jared and I couldn’t be connected, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of him. He is crucial and important to us and our success. That extension will get done. It’s a matter of when, not if.”
LATEST ANALYSIS
??? Team matches for best remaining FAs
??? Ranking deepest place groups
??? NFL triplets rankings: Who is No. 1?
??? NFC West primer: Camp queries ??? Rank: Could Redskins surprise?
Phew. That’s about a rebuke of a media-driven narrative a trainer gets.
The lecture follows speculation that the Rams might be hesitant to lock Goff since McVay is the puppet-master who is the only reason for its quarterback’s victory, and therefore L.A. may balk at paying him $30-plus-million a year on a new deal, especially after his struggles in the Super Bowl.
In the very least, the idea that McVay may take any quarterback, such as, Blake Bortles, for instance, and spin golden magic belies the fact of this relationship a coach and quarterback build over time and just how much that plays to the success and yearly development.
For his part, Goff is not fretting about his next agreement with the Rams, knowing his cash is still on the horizon so long as he stays healthy and continues his own yearly advancement under McVay.
Goff is on the Rams’ novels for the following two seasons of his rookie contract, at salaries of $4.26 million and $22.783 million, respectively, subsequently L.A. possesses the ability to overthrow the franchise tag for an additional two seasons. Theoretically, the Rams could employ Goff for the next four seasons (at escalating salaries) without giving him a lasting thing.
L.A. notoriously took a very long time to pay Aaron Donald prior to making him the highest-paid guardian in the NFL (briefly). Even if the front office takes a similar approach to Goff’s contract, McVay insists he’s found his long-term quarterback.

But such as the former Papa Johns Stadium as well as its counterfeit (in real life) owner, Louisville football last year was worse than the usual three-day-old pizza.
Scott Satterfield will be out win games and to change the culture and worked miracles at Appalachian State. This wont happen immediately as the talent level is down in theVille. This is a moment for Louisville, a team that has the chance to start taking steps in the ideal direction.
Ive read in which the Cards trainers have popped up the slow mechanisms of QB Jawon Pass (great name for a QB) and that I enjoy Hassan Hall because the direct running back. Than having a ticket for the Colts at OVER 9 for season 23, the defense which makes me more nervous. Please do tell why youve got your Irish up.
Swinging Johnson: The Cardinals wont be doing much as the Notre Dame defense will keep them snug in their nest, flying into this match. Scott Satterfield is in the big leagues and he has a team coming from a dismal record this past year, in which they went winless in ACC activity. This rebuild is akin to attempting to turn it and carrying a hot air balloon.
While that may eventually happen, the problem is that Louisville is facing a team which made it into the CFP this past year and possessed one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, surrendering just 17.2 points within the normal season and going a perfect 12-0 until they fulfilled Clemson from the CFP semifinals. The offense clicked on all cylinders averaging 33 points per match over.
My question is, just how is a quarterback like Pass who is slow to release, designed to gain some traction against a shield that is Irish? Particularly when he is working with a new coach and a completely new offensive strategy?
Please, Doug, save me I am lost! I see no way, shape or form in which Louisville is going to be able to keep up with this Golden Domers and Im desperate for the ancestral wisdom and prodigious handicapping experience!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, Im happy to read in your last sentence you are coming over to the glowing side of sport betting, or youre just being the identical shrewd a** you are. Ill let the SBR readers that are making college football picks decide on that. Im the first to realize Louisville was 1-11 ATS, although not just 2-10 and fully pumped final season.
Just like he gave up on the Atlanta Falcons However, that team COMPLETELY gave up on coach Bobby Petrino. A new trainer brings a new attitude on building a statement and this being a national match, his team will be sold by Satterfield. Louisville does need to trust they will not be taken by the Irish and not have a lot of fight.
Lets also consider, Brian Kelly with gold and all the blue is only 10-13-1 ATS as a road favorite, and a mere 7-9-1 ATS when dishing out 20 or more specimens. This defense you said might improve as the season progresses but substituting five starters, even whenever you dont/cant amuse like Bama or even Clemson, it will take some time.
I was becoming a bit facetious because although youve got an handicapping resumethat then you miss the mark from time to time. And in this scenario, you happen to be shooting blanks because Louisville could be greater but Id submit that they are coached by a Rhesus monkey and enhance upon their deplorable document left by an inept trainer such as Petrino.
I know that placing nearly three touchdowns on the street is square biz for sure along with Joe Q. Public never got rich by betting the heavy street chalk, but at times the public is correct, and in this instance they certainly are. Until next week when we get down on our NFL Game of the Week, lets see what happens on Monday night when the Irish come prepared to squint at Louisville.
Free College Football Pick: Swinging Johnson — Notre Dame -20 (-110)
Free College Football Pick: Doug Upstone — Louisville +20 (-110)
